Ward off Nightmares

Items needed:

  • Rosemary
  • Thyme
  • Linden
  • Lavender
  • Patchouli Incense
  • 2 white candles
  • 1 blue candle
  • Mortal and Pestle
  • Wand
  • Muslin bag
  • Blue marker
  • Red marker

Light the Patchouli incense and ground and center yourself.

When you are ready, light the two white candles. add equal parts Lavender and Linden to the mortar and pestle. add a scoop of Rosemary and a scoop of Thyme. Use the Pestle to grind the herbs into a powder.

Take the blue marker and draw the moon symbolmoon (for dreams) on one side on the bag, using the red marker draw the sun symbolsun (for fearlessness)  on the other side.

Add the herbal powder to the muslin bag . Light the Blue candle, hold your wand over the bag and say:

“Lavender, Linden, Rosemary, and Thyme

Peaceful sleep will be mine.

Sister moon keep watch over me,

Guide me peacefully through my dreams”

Well…look no further than the time of the Dark Moon which is where we are

The power of the darkness is at its peak when the Moon is fully blanketed by shadow

You don’t need to have a particular magickal need to recognize this powerful phase of the Moon

Light Black Candles and let your gaze drift up to the Moon

Think about how it is a noticeable sphere of darkness in an ink stained sky

Surrender to it and let it sink deep into your mind…


Negativity has a nasty way of lingering in a place so here is how to get rid of it

Magical Tools

There are many tools that can be used in magical workings. Bells, drums, incense holders, robes, etc. all have their place in the circle, but there are 4 that are used in traditional ceremonies more often than the others.

These 4 are the Wand, Athame, Cup/Chalice and Pentacle.

Each of these 4 tools comes with its own set of correspondences, but I’m going to be brief here.

We’ll begin in the North, where our Mother Earth lives and births us out into the world. There you’ll find the Pentacle; the 5 pointed star surrounded by a circle. This symbol has been called the Microcosm of Man.
